The Core Cut – A Window Into Your Roof's History
A roof core sample is one of the most valuable diagnostic tools available. Think of it as a window into your roof's history.
Your Pillar Roofing Coordinator will remove a small section, "Core-Cut," of the roofing system. We can identify every layer that has been installed over the life of the building, the insulation types and thicknesses, moisture conditions, attachment methods, and the overall condition of the roof assembly.
This information tells us not only how the roof was built, but also how it has performed over the past 30, 40, or even 50 years.
If two roofs are already in place and the system has reached the end of its service life, a complete tear-off is typically required before a new roof can be installed.
