Lightweight faux Tile
Brava’s Villa-Style Roofing gives recycled plastic a remarkable second life. Recovered plastics and other sustainable materials are processed, compressed and molded into durable tiles that recreate the depth, color and Old-World character of traditional terracotta.
The real breakthrough is weight: while an individual clay tile can weigh around 10 or 11 pounds, a Brava field tile weighs approximately 2.9 pounds, with the completed roof falling within the general weight range of many architectural-shingle systems.
That substantially lighter load can eliminate the costly structural reinforcement frequently required for clay or concrete tile, although every roof should still be evaluated for its existing framing, deck condition, and local building-code requirements.
